The two-year option is designed for students with experience in one or more areas of design. The three-year option is for students with an undergraduate degree in an unrelated area. The first year of this program allows students to develop design skills in preparation for the traditional two-year curriculum. On the road to a BFA in graphic design, you’ll blend and experiment with a wide range of media—coding, books, film, press kits, packaging, 3D motion graphics, apps and more. Through the process of research, strategy, concept development, prototyping and project execution, you’ll craft compelling brand imagery and graphics-based experiences for a range of classroom and real-world clients.

Faculty and students forge cross-disciplinary experimentation, challenging conventional thinking and blurring the lines between traditional artistic disciplines, indeed, between the arts and other humanities and sciences. While attending one of the school’s two-year programs, students will learn about typography, digital illustration, visual design foundations, digital publication design, logo development, web graphics, and more. Although this is a bachelor of science degree program, we included this course for those interested in taking a traditional educational route. Students will learn about the graphic design industry, digital image-making, digital color theory, creative writing, contemporary art, photography in design, and more. The curriculum gives a solid foundation in the fundamentals of graphic design, with elective courses in user experience, photography, and visual arts to choose from.
